Why is Crossroads developing a simulation on disasters? Put simply, we want to see the world a safer place, with fewer lives lost or devastated. When, therefore, the United Nations invited us to develop a disaster x-perience, we were eager to do so.

Within the United Nations, one branch is entirely devoted to reducing the risk of disasters and make the world more resilient to nature’s hazards. It is the UNISDR: the United Nations’ Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (www.unisdr.org).

We have worked with them in order to shape this simulation in a way that best captures the challenge before humanity today.

We are building a permanent installation of the disaster x-perience in Hong Kong. We are also developing a travelling version for travel purposes so we can offer it in different parts of the world.
