Orphans and Abandoned Children

In Europe’s poorest nation, Moldova, unemployment, and economic problems have led to widespread poverty and poor living standards. Our partners in the region have been working towards creating a suitable life for families in need and older children transition out of orphans at 18 years into society. They aim to assist struggling families to ensure that they have a safe environment for their children.  They have also been working on assisting Ukrainian refugees attain basic needs, funds, and emotional support to newly arrivals as the situation in their country remains unstable.
Our partner seeks to improve the lives of these families by placing them in safe environments where they can grow in maturity and self-reliance. To assist with the program, Crossroads sent another shipment to aid with their work.

“Families who have received assistance are very grateful and look forward to further assistance and support as the situation in Ukraine remains unstable and dangerous.” NGO director

The shipment facilitated the following development:

  • Furnishing of apartments targeting towards assisting young men coming of orphanages after reaching the age of 18
