We love helping even little children help others. As we say at Crossroads, there are ‘no hands too small’ to help someone else.

You can help children learn more about generosity by having them spend their pocket money on pencils, pens, erasers etc for children in need. Even something as basic as stationery can be the difference between a child attending school or not.  Your children would be welcome to give any of the following. Or, if they can manage the entire set, they put it in a ziplock bag  so it is what we call a ‘stationery kit’. We pack many of these for kids in need.

Please make sure all items are new. ‘Used’ stationery is often of limited life and a disappointment to the little lives we are seeking to help.

What kind of people will this help?

Education in Papua New Guinea is a luxury beyond the reach of many children, with 40% of the population living on less than 1 US dollar a day. The net enrolment for basic education is only 52.9%, and girls are often excluded from schooling entirely. In remote areas, there may not even be schools for any to go to. With an adult literacy rate of just 57% and children under 15 being 40% of PNG’s population, there is clearly still a world of meaningful work to do. We sent our partner, there, educational supplies and equipment to see their kids given a chance for a different future.

Your support will go to people in need, like this group, to help see lives changed. Thank you!
