Looking to get a workout while helping those in need? We can use you.
Just wanting to help out and have fun? We've got a task for you...
In short, if you're between 15 and 65 and still a student, we need you!
For students we have developed a 'Student Service Certificate', available to individuals of 15 years or older, which can be accredited towards many community service programmes such as the 'Hong Kong Award for Young People'.
The Student Service Certificate can be undertaken over 70 hours (silver certificate) or 140 hours (gold certificate) but any amount of time will receive a huge 'thank you' and make a big difference! These hours can be completed at whatever times are most convenient to the student. There are, however, a limit of 25 placements per (working) day, which are assigned to students upon registration. Internships consisting of six weeks or more are also available for those 17 years or older. On completion of their work experience, interns gain both gold and silver certificates (see above), and a personal reference.
The Crossroads distribution centre is located at 2 Castle Peak Road, Tuen Mun, and is open from 10am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Tours are conducted weekly. Please book in advance through the volunteer office on 2272 9330.
